GREAT LENGTHS

hair extensions

If you are here its probably because you have short hair and want it to be longer or you have thin fine hair and want it to be thick and full. If so, you have come to the right place. Our extensions are the most revolutionary extensions in the salon industry. We can remedy the lack of thick hair in a way that is practically invisible using the Great Lengths system. You can gain up to 24 inches of hair in a few hours as opposed to having to wait for your own hair to grow, which could take years. No other method treats your hair as gentle and the best part, nobody can tell that you are wearing them, its perfect freedom.

What Clients are Saying...
" I never thought I would have long hair. My hair is very fine and never seems to be able to grow past my shoulders. I am a performer and I need to have a polished look and that never happened with my wimpy hair. But with Leanne's help and Great Lengths I now have the long, layered look I have always wanted and I get to shake it when I up on stage."  -T.S.

" I love my extensions! I was able to add some length and volume but the best part is that I was able to add highlights of other colors without having to color my own hair. This is perfect for me as I am always changing the look and color of my hair." -L.A.

"I was wearing sew-in extensions for years.  Yes, they gave me fullness but they also gave me headaches because they are heavy.  They have to be re-done every few weeks which means I have frequent visits to the salon and with a busy schedule that is not practical. They never truly blended with my own hair either.  OH, and don't get me started on the smell!  I found Leanne and Great Lengths and its been a true pleasure ever since.  I now visit the salon about 3 or 4 times a year (as opposed to every 6 weeks) and she attaches these wonderful little strands in my hair that are light as a feather. After she applies all the hair she uses her razor and scissors and masterfully "etches" out a style.  I don't know if it is the small pieces or her talent but these blend in so well you can not tell which is my hair and which is the extension.  She is rather skilled and gets me in and out of the chair in just a few hours.  I LOVE my hair, Thanks Leanne!" - T.M

Now is your chance to have the hair you have always wanted!

METHOD

how it works

Of course, you may wonder how we attach Great Lengths strands to your own hair. While others use techniques such as welding, waxing, gluing or knotting, which strain and very often damage your hair to a high degree, Great Lengths is based on a much more gentle principle: modulating. Great Lengths created an extremely high-tech method of bonding between their strands and your own hair. This point of attachment is composed of polymer chains whose molecular structure is very similar to that of human hair. It is activated by an applicator tool that bonds the strand with your own hair. It can, however, be easily removed by an expert. Most important of all: your own hair is not damaged. This patented attachment of Great Lengths to your own hair offers you perfect freedom in organizing your leisure time and in your freedom of action but in no way compromises the quality of your own hair!

FREQUENTLY

asked  questions

Q: How long do they last?
A: Your extensions should last between 3 and 6 months. A lot of what determines the lifetime of your extensions is how quickly your own hair grows and how well you maintain them.

Q: How much do they cost?
A: Each head of extensions is unique, therefore prices are not quoted without a consultation.

Q: Do they damage the hair?
A: No, the bond used to attach the extensions is a protein polymer. This protein resembles that of the protein found in your hair, therefore you are not dealing with a glue or braided track that can put undo stress on the hair and scalp. In many cases clients say that after having worn them, their own hair is in better condition.

Q: Are they addictive?
A: Well, that all depends on the individual. For some one application is all they are looking for as in wanting long hair for a vacation, wedding or formal event. There are however many clients who wear them consistently over long periods of time because the extensions help them to achieve the look and feel they desire.

Q: How long does it take to apply the extensions?
A: That depends on the amount of hair being applied, however, generally you can expect your appointment time to be approximately 2 to 3 hours.

Q: How often can I wash my hair?
A: It is recommended to shampoo every other day unless your hair is excessively oily or exposed to chemicals such as chlorine which should be removed after contact.

Q: Is there anything I cannot use on my extensions?
A: The use of most shampoos, conditioners and styling products is unlimited. However products containing large quantities of sulfates, or sulfur, are not recommended and should not be used.

Q: Do I need to use any special products on my extensions?
A: A product called Anti-tap Water is and essential item to the care and wear of your extensions. It is simply used as a leave in product, used after shampooing, to keep the bonds intact.

Q: Do the extensions hurt?
A: For most they feel nearly non-existent, however in the first week of wear it is not uncommon to feel slight discomfort as you are getting accustomed to the additions.

Q: Can I swim or exercise while wearing extensions?
A: Yes absolutely, that is the beauty to having an attached hair addition as opposed to a wig or hair piece. It is just important, to the life of the extension, that after exposure to chlorine or after sweating that the hair be shampooed and Anti-tap Water be applied.

Q: Do I have to have them removed or do they just fall out?
A: You will have them removed by an expert after a period of 3 to 6 months. With the use of a special tool and solution they safely and easily remove from your hair. Some fallout or slippage is expected within the duration of wear, but it is minimal.

Q: How do I care for them?
A: You care for them in the same manner as you would your own hair. Brushing with a natural or boar bristle brush is essential to the condition of both your extensions and your own hair. It is recommended that you either braid or gather your hair in a soft schrunchie when sleeping, swimming or exercising to protect your hair and the extensions and to prevent matting and tangling.

Q: Can I tint my hair with them in?
A: Yes, during the time that you will be wearing your extensions your own hair will require maintenance if it is chemically treated. Tint will not harm the extension hair or the bond if used following the recommended manufactures instructions.

Q: How many colors/textures are available?
A: There are over 40 natural shades and more than a dozen fashion shades available to choose from. So blending them with your own color is simple. The extensions are made of 100% human "Indian temple" hair. It's texture is very soft and supple with a natural wave that can be worn curly or straightened if so desired.

Q: Can I use a curling or flat iron and hot rollers to style my extensions.
A: Yes, you just need to be cautious of the bond. Keeping your iron off of the bond allows it to remain intact. Subjecting the bond to high heat could make it soften and fall free from your own hair resulting in unnecessary fallout.
